Central Pennsylvania Open Source Conference
Anything related to Open Source projects, software and community is fair game. Good examples of subjects to choose from include: coding/development, operating systems, project management, networking, web technologies, administration, databases. If you have an idea, but you’re not sure if it would fit, just email us!
Presentations will be given a 50 minute time slot. A recommended session would be around 35 minutes for your talk and 15 minutes for Q&A. We are open to suggestions if you’d like to use a different format.
Send an email to cpconguys@gmail.com with a subject line that begins with the words CPOSC TALK (all capital letters) including the following information:
Personal Information
Talk Information
And if you have more than one idea for talks, that’s no problem. Feel free to submit as many presentation ideas as you like!
Each session has room for about 30 people, small enough to allow for a high degree of interaction. Post-talk discussion and questions are strongly encouraged.
In addition to a satisfying sense of a job well done, you’ll get: free admission to the event (including breakfast and lunch), another cool item to put on your resume, and a photo/bio paragraph on the CPOSC website. And, of course, the respect and admiration of the grateful conference attendees.
The Call For Participation begins on May 1, 2008 and ends on July 11, 2008. Selected speakers will be notified no later than July 25, 2008.
If selected as a speaker, you will be asked to give permission to CPOSC to use your talk and presentation materials, and to put them online for others to view. You will also be asked to provide a bio and a photo of yourself to put on the CPOSC website speaker’s page.
Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to cover hotel and travel expenses. If you are not from the Harrisburg area, please take that into consideration.
The Central Pennsylvania Open Source Conference (CPOSC) is a small, low-cost, one-day conference about all things Open Source. It will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2008 in Harrisburg, PA.
We call it CPOSC. You'll call it awesome!
